Our Message to Black Fathers

Get Ready to Become Great Again!

The Academy of Black Fathers is here for you!

Antonio Celester, Founder ACADEMY OF BLACK FATHERS

All parenting is "cultural" and every ethnic group has cultural traditions, by which their group shares a common and distinctive identity, which includes, heritage, ancestry and parenting styles, among others. The black men and women in America have a culture and parenting style, that is traced back to our own history and parenting legacy, before coming to America.

The Message to Back Fathers

The Message to Black Fathers and our young Black men

Dear Brothers,

It's time for a profound and honest dialogue about the state of our community. If we pinpoint the greatest threat to us as black men as stemming from white police officers, we must also confront the internal challenges we grapple with daily. The violence within our own ranks is not merely a symptom; it's a manifestation of a deeper issue – self-hate.

Trusting each other has become a rare commodity, and we find ourselves victimizing our own, only to decry victimization when it comes from external forces. Uttering "Black Lives Matter" loses its resonance when we, too, contribute to the loss of black lives. Participating in gangs fighting over streets named after individuals who don't share our struggles is a painful paradox. Consider if, as slaves, we had turned against each other based on our masters' affiliations.

We've adopted a mindset that doesn't align with the freedom, critical thinking, and protective nature we should embody as fathers and protectors. Our abnormal behaviors, particularly the act of killing each other, equate to self-destruction. It's as if we've internalized the hatred that society has projected onto us.

Loving someone requires knowing them, and the same principle applies to self-love. If we don't know ourselves, how can we genuinely love ourselves or others? Our shared struggles should serve as a unifying force for the betterment of all who share our history and appearance. Yet, we find ourselves turning our frustration inward instead of working together for a brighter future.

Real change starts with us – black men who can rise above destructive patterns and redefine our narrative. Let's unite for the well-being of our community, learning to love and support each other to build strong families. The Academy of Black Fathers invites you to subscribe and join us on this transformative journey.

We seek not only leaders but thinkers and individuals committed to fostering positive change. Our reach extends into jails and prisons because we believe in the untapped potential within all members of our community. Join the movement, my brothers and sisters. Together, let's construct a future where we uplift and empower one another.

Sincerely,

The Academy of Black Fathers
